Short URLs for Search Engines

If you are only running one store on the domain, the OpenUI™ will automatically remove the Store_Code string from the URL to all the various pages of the store. It has been found that removing that particular string will help better rankings with search engines and assist in the SEO process.

Thus, if your URL to the store front used to be:

http://www.yourdomain.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SFNT&Store_code=xxx

this will now be displayed as:

http://www.yourdomain.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SFNT

If you are running a mall environment, no changes will be made and all urls will continue to use the Store_code.
