Using OpenTokens™ to Enhance your Store
Return to Introduction  Previous page  Next page

The OpenUI™ utilizes tokens for specific features. OpenTokens™ allow you to insert template-style call-ins of dynamic content, such as current order number, product name, category name and more.

For example, the OpenUI™ includes a Meta-Tag Settings feature with which you can include a token for the Product Description. When a shopper is on a specific product page, a token can parse the product's description and place it in the current product page's Meta Description field.

Tokens are available with many features and will always include pull-down menus to make the insertion process a no-brainer.

In order to use tokens, it must be enabled in the admin. By default, tokens are enabled.

To verify, or to enable tokens:

1.In the admin menu, click the embim1next Stores.

2.Click on Your Store's Link.

3.In the right-hand menu, click the OpenUI™ Tokens link.

4.Verify the Token Replacement checkbox is checked. If it is not, check the box and then click the Update button.

If you do not want to use OpenToken™ control, you can optionally turn this feature off.

Once OpenTokens™ are enabled, you'll be able to use them to gain specific control.

Since tokens will parse actual textual content (such as the product name or description), keep in mind that while you can include additional text of your own, you'll want to make sure you don't break the token code apart and will want to include other text before or after the token.
